We have to admit that when it comes to UltraViolet, we just don’t get it. With most of the major studios involved (Disney is the holdout,) the idea is that instead of streaming or renting, a onetime purchase with the logo gives you a Blu-ray and regular DVD with a code that can be used to download on various UltraViolet enabled video devices like tablets, smartphones and PCs. Sign up at the site and up to six individuals get access. Go for a code only and you get to burn your own copy.

While the service only launched in mid-October and is still new with only a few titles available and no major retailers committed to the idea, the company feels that it can do to video what Apple and iTunes did for music. But when it comes right down to it, the fact is that you have to be on the Internet to use the service and burn a copy that many cannot or don’t want to do makes it less appealing.

We so prefer renting or streaming to amassing more “stuff” and unless you have kids that can endlessly watch animated movies or you are sci-fi fanatic, we think the concept has a ways to go. Especially since if you look at a purchase for “Horrible Bosses” Blu-ray/DVD combination pack plus UltraViolet digital code that is a whopping .99.

Everyone knows that latest plasma TV or LED’s is produced with 3D effects. They have created a revolution in 2010, and this revolution will only develop further in 2011. The latest revolution in 3D TV is that there is no more need of the 3D glasses. Always watch TV with a boring glasses on your head is obviously not practical. Several manufacturers have now announced the technology in your hands in order to produce 3D TVs that do not need a 3D glasses.

What is 3D TV?
3D TV is a television special television that allows the images to three-dimensional view. Although the real hype around 3D really started in 2010, there is a principle about it much longer. Already in the 80s of last century there were already several films to be viewed in 3D, both in cinemas and on TV at home. The reason why 3D is so popular television only now is the higher quality of the images. These can now be viewed in HD or High Definition.

How does it work?
A modern 3D movie is filmed with a camera with two lenses. Emerge as two images, each a few inches apart. In one image, the filtered red color, green in the other image. When we set up a 3-D glasses with one red on one side and on the other hand, a green lens, it seems that we see the image in 3D. Seems, as it is still an illusion of course.

3D TV without the 3D glasses
Several manufacturers have already announced that they have the technology to enable 3D viewing without glasses. This technique, however, lasted much longer than today, but was never really on point. In the past we managed to create 3D effect only when the viewer was in front of the screen. Now the market include Toshiba, Samsung and Philips to change that. The technology was already used in various smart phones and the new Nintendo 3DS .

B & W were then asked to develop a quality speaker at an attractive price, the result was the Minipod series. Through the years, the concept of the Minipod progressed further and enlarged with several models like the Bigpod, and more recently the MicroPod speakers to connect to the iPod, iPhone, iPad. All models feature the same distinctive styling and lascivious quality.

Smallpod
The smallest of the family pod, a smaller version of the original Minipod, an ideal speaker to a bookshelf or desk to put down.

Minipod
The speaker where it all began is made according to the draft form follows function, every detail of design has a specific function to optimize sound quality possible. 3 balls in melted form the sound box. This form is vibration and distortion to a minimum.

Bigpod
The big brother of the Minipod, and also the greatest speaker in the series Scandyna, the Bigpod. The Bigpod is in every way larger than his older brother, both dimensions, but also sound performance of a different order. If you are looking for a replacement for your (stereo) speakers and you want something other than rectangular wooden boxes I would be sure to ask about the Bigpod speakers.
